I Love California City took notice of the presence California City has on the internet and the discussion people had. The city has been painted in a negative tone. Mostly on the condition and look of the town. When sitting down and asking ourselves, what could we do to better our city's image? Updating our city welcome signs was a small and simple project, but can have a big impact on thousands of visitors who come through our city. The current signs have been sun damaged (above image). This has been what people see visiting or returning from home from a long day of work. Not quite so welcoming.
We took a couple weeks to gather the materials needed and contacted a sign company to get a quote. With numbers in hand we presented our project to the California City Planning Commission who approved the project.
We have come together in an effort to update our city seal welcome signs. Our current sign has been damaged by the sun over time. We need to raise a sum of $2,400 to replace the city welcome signs to bring a fresh look for those coming to our home.
The $2,400 will allow the cleaning of the area around each city sign, cleaning and painting of the structures, and replacement of the signs and "Welcome to" text.
To welcome everyone who comes to our city, your help is very much appreciated. You can donate to this project by:
Though the city could have taken on the project themselves, there would be a much longer process for them to do so. As citizens we are able to offer our help by coming together and doing this as a gift to our city and our home, making a quicker process to accomplish and beautify the city where we live.
We seek to do more projects that better the city's image and bring pride to our home.
Thank you to all who have supported this project. We are a little more than halfway there, but things are in motion to get this project completed.
We've reached the end of this project. A lot of waiting but it is worth it to have new welcome signs for our city. So excited to actually witness the signs being put up.
Welcome to California City everyone. Lets take 2021 for this City and do something amazing!
